Link Building and its Varieties

Deep linking is nothing but creating a hyperlink on a website that points to a particular page or image on another website, in the vast expanse of the internet, rather than the websites’ own home page. However deep links cant be differentiated with other links, as all links are functionally equal, making it difficult to figure out the masking. Deep linking being controversial can be mostly avoided, by configuring the server to check the referring URL. Even there are some websites are there, which object to the creation of deep links into their content, first sent a cease and desist notice regarding the deep links on their website, later charge the link creator for creating such deep links, even if valid.
 

Now-a-days websites are being built using web technologies such as AJAX or Adobe Flash that do not support deep linking, however this has created usability problems for online visitors visiting those websites; as websites created using technologies restrict the online visitors from saving the bookmarks of a particular page on the website. However, as with every technology, when there is any limitation, a loophole or addition allows the successful achieving the result. As such by using techniques like SWFAddress, website creators using Flash or AJAX to create a website allow deep linking services on the website. To find out how many deep links have been created to a website, it is better to calculate the number of inbound links to a particular website, and divide it with the number of outbound links coming out from the website. In this way the user can get the deep link ratio to his website.
